The Hampshire Hogs team comprises brothers Neil (elder) and James plus their old man, Barry Woodward. The whole idea of tackling the Challenge is one of Dad's "bucket list" items and having picked up his first old age pension payment this month (Dec 2011) he felt he'd better get on with organising it.
During a somewhat boozy family Sunday lunch the Challenge subject was raised by Dad and, surprisingly, the boys agreed to accompany him (one week each) on the Dakhla event....and they still agreed to do the trip once they'd sobered up the next day!
However, as with most families, harmony is not always maintained and the first "disagreement" came when making the first key decision - naming the Team - but we relented and went along with James's suggestion which seems apt given we all live in Hampshire.
Piglet was one of the two cars advertised on the main website being sold by Peter Osborne in Kent (an old friend of the Challenges) and is now in the garage awaiting some cosmetic changes and a little bit of "TLC".
The charity element of the Challenge - our very first one - is for us to raise money for The Elizabeth Foundation, a Hampshire based charity, who do excellent work for children who are profoundly deaf.
