My baby brother and I took part in the Plymouth Banjul challenge in 2005. Unfortunately the car we chose was a VW Golf GTI. This proved remarkably disappointing as it failed to break down at all. The spare tyre was the only one to go flat, and despite a terrible lack of mechanical sympathy nothing would fall off. Lesson learned I intend to get something more delicate, drive it harder, over more difficult terrain, possibly towing a caravan. I haven't asked my brother if he is coming yet, but why wouldn't he?

In the meantime I put the wife down as the second driver. I haven't told her yet either. She won't mind, will she?
