Camel

Once upon a time...

On a boring day surfing the net, I came accross this lovely crazy idea of crossing the desert on a old banger... and "Bang", somebody in this world had designed what I was for so long looking for... "I´ve got to register for this"!

It was quite near the departure and with no car and nobody willing to come with me... the famous "next year I´ll go" became the rule for the following two years.

But now, the anger and frustration of delaying such an adventure became so unbearable that it had to happen!!!

Luckily, I found a dear friend who is fool enough to believe in me and decided tojoin this challenge. On the same time my girlfriend who learned how to drive in the very cheap 4 wheel yellow box I´ve offered her turned out to be the best reliable car around! If it survived her driving them it is unbreakable!!!

The inscription was the last step and once accepted the adventure is now official!!!

Now as usual, the first thing to do was to relax and dream about all the nice things we´re going to see... until yesterday when we realised that a month´s left and no much has been happening!

So here we are... scratching our heads and thinking on all there is to do...

It´s time to switch off the TV, leave the sofa for the cat and get the hands dirty!!!

Well, 3 weeks later and here we are back home and still processing what happened along this trip!

Overall, a great drive through West Africa with lots of new smell, people and colors... Good fun all along with great people to make the journey smooth and easy (ish)!
 

Will surely come back for more!!!

Couldn't leave without an ovation to our "Camel" which has transformed itself during the trip and became one of best car I've ever owned! What a car!!!
