The Silk Road Road Banger Rally Challenge heading for the final destination - stunning Petra in Jordan, leaves the UK on 21st October and this new banger rally challenge routes through Europe then via Romania to cross the epic Transfagarasan pass, then we head down to Istanbul where there will be a rest day. Following what will be a well deserved we then head on to Cappadocia for more free time before dropping down to the Levant. Damascus in Syria will be another rest day before hitting the desert to see Palmyra with the stunning Petra (you remember the Indiana Jones films??) this being the final destination for all the teams.
So you may ask what about Syria and the Arab spring that has swept across the Arab world this year? Well the troubls in Syria may well be fading from the news but all teams plan to press on and make a final decision at the border. The initial thought is that they will get a warm welcome there given the decline in the tourist trade following the troubles.....
